Subject: You were selected to be a Featured HOST on BlogTalkRadio
Dear Ben,
Congrats! We have listened to and enjoyed your previous Blogtalkradio broadcasts. As a result, our editorial team has selected you to be a Featured HOST on BlogTalkRadio!
Now that you have our attention, let's take advantage of this opportunity! Shows we feature on our homepage receive higher traffic and listeners, so now is your time to shine! We at BlogTalkRadio are helping promote your show as best we can, but you too must do your part!
Featured shows are required to have a BTR player and button prominently displayed on their blog, website, and/or MySpace page. The BTR button and player can be found when you login, under "Promote." Using these tools ensure that your fans can easily link to your live show from your site, as well play archived shows directly from your blog. The use of these tools will increase your total listeners. If you need help embedding the code on your site, please contact
ShaunDaily@blogtalkradio.com or
ChristieSweet@blogtalkradio.com.
Here is the code for your player:

If you already proudly display your BTR button and player, then thanks! You're ahead of the game!
Other great ways to self-promote include blogging about your upcoming shows, sending out email blasts or newsletters to your listeners and friends, and letting us know at
hostpr@blogtalkradio.com when you have special topics or guests so we can highlight you in our Featured Box or on our BTR blog.
Unfortunately, Featured host status isn't guaranteed to be permanent. But continual great content, promotion and of course strong listener numbers will help you to maintain featured page status. With this in mind, we are confident your best shows are yet to come.
Webcams for Live Shows!
As you may know, our Featured Hosts on BlogTalkRadio now have the ability to use a webcam feature during their live shows. By using this feature, your audience can see you broadcast your show live. So, you might want to comb your hair and make sure your pajamas are packed away.
In order to utilize this feature you must already have a either a built-in webcam, external USB webcam or similar.
Here are some simple instructions for enabling our webcam feature:
· When using your webcam with BlogTalkRadio, first make sure that you have correctly installed all of the corresponding software for your webcam. No additional software is necessary to install this feature with BlogTalkRadio.
· You must be a Featured Host in order to utilize this function. Since Featured status is not permanent, neither are webcam privileges. We have limited release on this feature now, but hope to expand it in the future.
· Before or during your show, go to your Switchboard, click on “Start chat session” at the bottom left of your switchboard. Make sure that your camera is plugged into your computer.
· You will see your profile picture displayed largely in the bottom left hand side of your chat room and a smaller version of the picture to the right.
· On the smaller picture to your right, click on the “V” (for “Video”) button beneath your avatar picture (see image below). This will activate your camera.
· You will then be asked if you want to “allow” or “deny” this feature. Click the bubble beside “allow” to enable webcam use.
· Once you click “close” your webcam will be active.
Please contact us if you have any questions, and thanks for all your hard work on BlogTalkRadio!
Best,
